Patient Visits by Payer is a Data Table style report that includes SOAP 1.0 and 2.0 data and shows the count of patient note types by insurance and clinic.

Location

You can locate this report in the  Visits section of Reports in Analytics. If you do not see the report listed in this section, ensure that you have the correct Analytics Access permission.

Run and Customize the Report

  1. You can filter which clinics appear in the report using the View Clinics by: drop-down menu and corresponding (…) button.
  2. Use the View Data By drop-down to add additional columns and levels of detail to the table. These include Insurance Type, Insurance name, and Clinic name.
  3. The % of Total column should add up to 100%.

Tip: Duplicate insurance names can occur when the insurance is not named the same way across the company structure, and the system cannot aggregate them automatically. If you encounter duplicate insurance companies in your EMR go into your company insurance structure and ensure consistent payer naming. This process can impact your billing integration, especially if merging accounts, please take this into consideration before making any changes to your insurance payer naming structure. Once insurance companies are named correctly, the system will automatically combine them on the next data update, which typically occurs every hour on the hour.
